Artist Biography
      Michelle Luther works mainly in gouache and oil paint, and her subject matter consists of interior spaces and landscapes. Luther’s paintings aim to portray the aura of the spaces that hold her attention. Through composition, color relationships, and process, she conveys the observational and emotional essence of these scenes. 
      Michelle graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2023. She has exhibited in group exhibitions nationally, such as The View Arts Center (Old Forge, New York) and The Pensacola Museum of Art (Pensacola, FL). Michelle was awarded a Federal Grant in 2023 to pursue her research in The Exploration of Color Theory’s Psychological Effects on the Viewer. She exhibited her research at the University of West Florida’s 2023 Student Scholars Symposium and Faculty Research Showcase, and she was awarded the People's Choice Award for the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities. 
      Michelle is pursuing opportunities to show her work nationally and internationally along with deepening her understanding of painting.
